Measurement Improvements
Measuring in Sphere XG has never been easier. You can now measure from multiple scan locations, meaning you can initiate a measurement from a panoramic image, continue across various waypoints, and complete the process seamlessly. This enables measurements from extended distances without the constraints of a single scan position. Measured data can be subsequently viewed and rendered from any desired position, such as point cloud or 360° view.
White Pixel Transparency in Floor Plans
Floorplan white pixels are now rendered transparent, enabling clearer overlays of point clouds or 3D models in 2D Overview mode. This facilitates streamlined comparisons between as-built conditions and design intent. Combined with the new point cloud analysis features, this feature significantly simplifies on-site issue identification.

Align SCENE Data with 3D Models
You can now align uploaded scan data from SCENE with 3D models. This allows you to compare the current situation on the jobsite with design intent, enabling faster decision making.

Layer Management Added
We’ve now enabled a way to add additional layers to Sphere XG! You can now add 2D floor plans (PDF or any image type) as a layer to your project by clicking on the new + icon in the Layers tool. This allows you to switch between different layers (e.g. Scan overview maps and floor plans) and understand your space based on pre-existing information.

Export POD File Format
We now support exporting point clouds in POD format! This widely adopted format, optimized for Bentley Systems and Siemens software (e.g., NX Line Designer and Process Simulate), facilitates efficient rendering and analysis of large datasets. Ideal for factory planning, construction, and infrastructure management, POD export allows users to select specific sections or the entire point cloud, ensuring seamless integration into external software for planning, simulation, and informed decision-making.
Waypoint Quality of Life Updates
We’re introducing new ways to use waypoints in sheet mode and in the minimap. We’ve also added labels to scans and waypoints, showing the scans’ names and improving the project overview. These labels are also clickable, making project navigation even easier and faster.
We’ve also added a hoverable color bar on the bottom right, which functions as a legend to associate a given color with a given date. This allows you to quickly gauge scan age or height at a glance. You can toggle the options in the View Settings.

New Languages Added
We’re lowering the barrier to usage for Sphere XG yet again! The Sphere XG viewer now supports five different languages: German, Japanese, Spanish, French, and English.
You can change your preferred language by clicking on your avatar at the top right and accessing the new language menu.
