PDF Reports for 360° Project Progress
You can now generate PDF reports for selected areas in your scan. Choose an area directly from your Sphere XG projects to document and share 360° capture progress. Simply select the areas and waypoints you want to include, configure the report layout, and Sphere XG generates the PDF in the background.
Reports can include 2D photos, deep links back into the Viewer, and sheet overviews showing capture locations, making it easy to provide progress documentation to owners, inspectors, or subcontractors in a standard offline format, without requiring them to log into Sphere XG.
Snapshots for Selective Project Sharing
Create filtered, view-only copies of your projects, called Snapshots, and share them with specific stakeholders without granting full project access. A Snapshot includes only the 360° content that matches your selected filters, such as date, location, or tags, and appears as a separate project with a clear reference back to the original.
This function makes it easy to share specific areas or timeframes with external parties like owners or inspectors without exposing the full project.
Reliable Downloads for Large Point Cloud Exports
Great news: exporting large point cloud datasets from Sphere XG is now significantly faster and more reliable. Larger datasets, such as those that exceed 20 GB, are now easier to download for users with average internet speeds. A new download tool now handles large files automatically, ensuring downloads are reliably completed and at full internet speed.
Quick Upload of 360° Photos on Sheets
Adding 360° photos and 2D images to a project is now faster and more intuitive. Simply right-click on any empty spot on a sheet to upload content directly at that location or drag and drop image files from your computer onto the sheet.
Sphere XG automatically detects whether an image is a panorama or a regular 2D photo and handles it accordingly, removing several manual steps for teams that frequently update projects with new captures.
Manual Blurring for Sensitive Content
You can now manually blur sensitive content in 360° images before sharing or publishing your projects. While Sphere XG already offers automated blurring of faces and people, the new tool lets you select a rectangular area in a 360° image and apply a gray box in a single action.
This function is perfect for hiding nameplates, sensitive information, prototype equipment, or license plates when preparing data for broader sharing with external parties.
Point Annotations on 360° Images
You can now create single-point annotations directly on 360° images, similar to how it’s applied to a point cloud. With just one click, you can mark a location and add a note without needing to draw a shape or define an area.
The feature is also compatible with annotations created in the JobWalk app, so notes added on site appear correctly in the Sphere XG Viewer and vice versa.
Reduced Storage Footprint for Scan Projects
Scan projects in Sphere XG now use significantly less storage space. When new scan data is uploaded, Sphere XG automatically compresses the capture data, resulting in a noticeably smaller project size.
This means you can manage more projects within your existing storage limits without worrying about hitting your storage budget. The optimization applies to all newly uploaded scan data going forward.
