Sphere XG
Point Cloud Uploads of up to 50GB
We understand how some projects end up amassing large datasets over time. To ensure all your vital data is secure, and complete, we’ve increased the point cloud upload size limit from 20GB to 50GB. This provides holistic digital archives and support for bigger projects when you’re importing to Sphere XG.

➔ Tips on Optimizing Point Cloud Workflows with Sphere XG
Object Visibility Now with Distance Control Sliders
The Object Visibility function slider now includes more precise Distance Control. This enables greater control over the previous “Show Nearby” and “Show All” options. Traverse 360° photos and 3D point clouds with the freedom to slide and decide the visibility of objects (such as annotations or measurements) based on distance when reviewing multiple project phases.

Help Has Arrived! Quick Links to Sphere XG Guides and Videos Now Directly in Your Dashboard
A successful transition to Sphere XG relies on effective knowledge transfer with rich resources. As such, we’ve made using Sphere XG even more accessible by adding direct links to our Help Centre and explainer and onboarding videos in the Resource Centre tab of your Dashboard, appearing above the “Send feedback” button.

Colored x, y, and z-axis Handles When Clipping Point Clouds
Ensuring accurate orientation and axis rotation when Clipping point clouds is now easier. We’ve made some updates to show the handles of Clipping boxes in different colors according to the axis for easy reference and navigation. Red for the x-axis, green for y, and blue for the z-axis. We’ve also enabled the option to move and adjust axis positions to correct and align orientations.

New Align Wizard, with Sheet-to-Cloud Alignment
We returned to the drawing board with this one to ensure we provide you with a seamless and streamlined experience when aligning multiple reality capture types. The new and improved Align Wizard ensures a consistent experience across point clouds, 3D models, and floor plans. Clearly defined elements show visuals of rigid and locked datasets and those being manipulated. We’ve also added Sheet-to-Cloud alignment functionality for efficient and accurate work on Sphere XG.

➔ Best Steps Toward Seamless Reality Capture Integration
One Button to Lock & Save Your 360° Photo Orientations in Split Screen
The “Lock Orientation” button now can save the orientation for 360° photos (from 360° cameras), enabling easier comparison and navigation. The orientation is saved when locking 360° photos with any other dataset that has the correct orientation (such as a 3D model). Once the orientation is saved, waypoints are shown in the 360° image. When in split screen with datasets of known orientation, the split screen will be locked automatically, allowing faster comparisons.
