Privacy and the GDPR at HoloBuilder
Protecting your data and privacy is essential to us at HoloBuilder. Learn on this site which preparations for GDPR we have undertaken and how you can get in touch in the case of any questions.
What is GDPR?
The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a uniform regulation to ensure and continue to improve data protection within all Member States of the European Union. Although the regulation is passed from the EU, it serves to enforce the same rights and principles in terms of data protection for every citizen. The regulation comes into effect on May 25, 2018.
Who is affected?
Primarily, the GDPR was implemented to protect individuals or data subjects which are citizens of the EU. However, by meeting the high standards of the GDPR we are about to improve on how we handle and protect your data as well as document who is keeping the data in general. As a result, we make all working processes even safer and more reliable for everyone who gets in touch with us.
What are key changes?
In summary, GDPR expands your individual rights for protecting your personal data. One of the most important changes is the right to be forgotten allowing you to have any data on you removed. Furthermore, GDPR regulates the data transfer for third-party processors and increases the transparency on what data is collected and how it is used.
Right To Be Forgotten
The right to be forgotten is one of the most valuable improvements by the GDPR. In short, this right grants you the possibility to have any data stored by us to be deleted. Just write us an email if you wish to delete all saved information related to you.
If you do not have a HoloBuilder account but you think we could have stored data of you, you can also send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Data Controller & Data Processor
We, as Data Controller, use the stored data to grant you the best services and a constantly improving our products. We use and forward data to Data Processors in order to help us improve our services. We want to make clear that transferring your data is not part of a trade but solely to give you more features and make our services more convenient for you.
In the process of getting compliant with the GDPR, we make sure that companies and third-parties have to be GDPR compliant, too. So, users and individuals which share data with us can be sure that this data is stored safely and well traceable.
Data Breach Notifications
In the case that a data breach should occur, the main factor is time. In respect to the GDPR, we will make sure to react to and notify about any data breaches within 72 hours to allow you a prompt reaction.
