Colored Waypoints Now Visible in Sphere XG
Good news for former HoloBuilder users: your colored waypoints are now visualized in Sphere XG! Assigning different colors to waypoints helps you organize, navigate, and manage construction progress by adding powerful visual categorization to spatial documentation.
Colored waypoints provide immediate visual context to your jobsite documentation. For instance, safety hazards can be marked in red, completed inspections in green, pending tasks in yellow, and change requests in blue, allowing team members to instantly understand project status at a glance. Likewise, project coordination becomes more efficient when colored waypoints are assigned to specific subcontractors or construction phases, for example electrical work in orange and plumbing in blue.
To view your colored waypoints, simply choose “HoloBuilder color” under “Colorize” in the view settings and waypoint colors will automatically adjust to what you have set in HoloBuilder.
Location Markers Visible in Sphere XG
Location markers that you have set in HoloBuilder are now fully visible in Sphere XG. When the site is large and the project team is big, it can be difficult to plan the capturing process ahead of time. To remove some of the friction, you can mark all locations that need to be captured, before the field team heads onsite. They can then see the location markers in the JobWalk app to know exactly where documentation is missing.
Improved Measurements with Edge Snapping
The measurement tool now features intelligent edge and corner snapping when holding the Ctrl key (Cmd on Mac) in scenes with 3D information. Orange visual indicators highlight detected edges and corners, enabling precise measurements in both 360° photos with depth data and point clouds. This enhancement significantly improves measurement accuracy for tasks such as quality control and facility documentation. Try it out now!
PDF Report for Point Cloud Analyses
You can now export your point cloud analyses into a PDF Report. This known and trusted format streamlines documentation and sharing of inspection results with stakeholders who might be not as tech-savvy or simply prefer traditional file formats.
To create a report, save your analysis, and via the 3-dot menu click “Create Report”. In the next step, simply enter a title and description and the PDF report will be created in no time, including an image of the analysis with all added labels, a description and a link to directly access the analysis in Sphere XG.
