Discover what’s new with Sphere XG this October and enhance your workflows with added efficiency and improvements.

Procore Integration Now Available

Exciting news! Sphere XG now integrates with Procore, a leading project management platform for the construction industry. This integration syncs observations and annotations across both platforms, ensuring that visual context from your reality capture data follows you no matter which platform you use.

By keeping annotations consistent across both Sphere XG and Procore, you’ll be able to stay updated with critical project details and eliminate workflow disruptions. No matter what your team members use, everyone has access to current information with full visual context. Keep stakeholders aligned without having to switch between siloed platforms!

Streamlined View and Edit Experience

If your projects use Blink, Orbis, or Focus scanner data, this update is for you. If you only work with 360° imagery, you can skip ahead – these changes won’t affect your workflow.

We’ve streamlined how you work with scan data in Sphere XG. Previously, you had to decide upfront whether to use the “Manage Data” or “Open” button from the Dashboard before entering your project. Now, you can always simply open your project and access the tools you need from within. For projects containing scan captures where you have editor permissions, you’ll see two new navigation elements: a Live|Draft toggle that replaces the previous breadcrumb navigation, and an Edit Scans button in the left sidebar above “Import data.”

The Live|Draft toggle lets you seamlessly switch between viewing your live project and working in Draft, where you can add or edit scans before publishing them to the live project. The Edit Scans button provides quick access to Draft without returning to the Dashboard. Both elements include visual indicators to help you stay aware of your project’s current state. In an upcoming release, we’ll be removing the separate “Manage Data” button from the Dashboard to further simplify the experience.

High-Resolution Orthophoto Export

The orthophoto export feature has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with a new backend. You can now specify custom resolution values to generate detailed orthophotos that are stored in the backend, allowing you to download them during future sessions if needed.

Efficient Multi-Page PDF Import

When creating new Areas and Layers from multi-page PDF sources, you can now see thumbnail previews of all pages, making it simple to navigate through large documents and select exactly what you need. The multi-select functionality lets you choose multiple pages at once either by selecting thumbnails or using convenient text-based selection (for example, “1-2, 5, 7-9”).

Once you’ve selected your pages, any cropping or rotation you apply gets automatically applied to all selected sheets, dramatically reducing repetitive work when processing large drawing sets.

Revamped Project Structure

Waypoints are now listed directly under their respective areas, while the previous “360° Photos” folder has been removed. This reorganization is part of a larger effort to create a more intuitive data management structure where heterogeneous datasets (like VideoMode trajectories and static 360° photos) can coexist in the same folder, making navigation more logical and efficient.

Improved Project Loading Speeds

We’ve implemented optimizations in the back that deliver a significant performance boost to project loading times. For example, a 100-sheet project that used to require a full minute of waiting now loads almost instantaneously at just 0.5 seconds! Whether you’re accessing small documentation sets or massive multi-building developments, your daily workflows will be more efficient and responsive than before.
